Gabi Delgado RIP Only one week after losing Genesis P-Orridge, now we lose the vocal half of D.A.F. which was also one of à;GRUMH... ‘s biggest influences, along with TG, Zev, SPK and later Belgian EBM pioneers like Arbeit Adelt or Front 242. I saw DAF on stage at Le Disque Rouge in Brussels in the early eighties and have a vivid memory of the gig. A wall of cassette decks with one track per deck and Gabi dancing and jumping left from right, practically doing splits, while we, the young provincial heroes amongst Belgian rock fans, were dancing without moving our feet, bodies moving in all directions like if we were sticked to the floor by magnetic shoes !!! What a great gig. We took #dermussolini on tour as one of our encores, usually the third one. Great energy. Great band. RIP 🦍 @agrumhofficial #daf #gabidelgado

gOD is dEAD 💀
Genesis P-Orridge est mort ce matin à l’âge de 70 ans. Je devrais dire est “morte” quoique qu’elle se réclamait du troisième sexe “S/he & H/er”. Nous avions décrété qu’il était dIEU (Minuscule/mAJUSCULES) à l’époque de nos premiers disques - “gEN is gOD and your God is not”. Cet artiste unique était le créateur et leader de Throbbing Gristle alias TG, “le” groupe de musique industrielle dont le travail a influencé tout ce qui s’est fait depuis. Ses performances scéniques et sa créativité furent des piliers de l’art alternatif à travers cinq décennies. De TG à Psychic TV et ses projets solo, avec en parallèle son développement personne et ses changements physiques afin d’atteindre un nouveau genre, en font un personnage unique dans l’histoire de ce monde.
En bataille avec une leucémie, il a vécu 70 ans et quels accomplissements. Je salue un grand artiste dont j’ai eu la chance de serrer la main et voir sur scène deux fois, bien moins que mon ami Pascal Paix-trois Mahieu qui l’a suivi bien plus souvent et possède à peu près tout ce qu’il a enregistré sur disques, cassettes, cd’s et probablement une dizaine d’autres supports.
Pour tous ceux qui ne connaissent pas, allez taper THROBBING GRISTLE sur YouTube ou autre et plongez vous quelques minutes dans cet univers sombre et écorché des premières années de l’ère industrielle de la mUSIQUE.
